 Invitation

On behalf of the 2nd Technical Section of the CIGR, we have the pleasure to invite you to participate at the International Symposium New Trends in Farm Buildings, to be held from 2 to 6 of May, 2004, in Evora, Portugal.

Research findings, legislation, technical solutions and future trends concerning farm buildings, systems and equipment for animal and plant production will be shared and discussed. We encourage you to submit a paper under one of the six topics of the scientific program.

May is the perfect month to visit Portugal and the Alentejo region. The weather is mild and sunny, and the region gives a sensation of freedom, induced by the wide open spaces, where the strength of its beauty is surprising, together with the tranquility of the landscape of wheat-fields, oak plantations, vineyards and olive trees.

The Evora Region, essentially rural, has an abundant architectural, historical and archaeological heritage, showing the human presence in the region through millennia. The Historic Center of Evora, classified as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, is an example of this heritage.

The gastronomic offer of this region is infinite, with a very rich cuisine and excellent wines, and the friendliness of people specializes them in the art of receiving, that you certainly will not forget.

We are sure that you will have a pleasant stay in our country and will enjoy the social events, tours and sightseeing, proposed for the event, and most of all, contacting your colleagues.
